The major spinal afferent systems to the cerebellum and the cerebellar corticonuclear connections in Macaca mulatta.

چکیده
A remarkable degree of functional localization on the cerebellum has been revealed by using electrophysiologic studies but these findings have not as yet been documented satisfactorily by anatomical methods. The present investigation is concerned primarily with the topographic patterns within the major spinal afferent systems to the cerebellum and those in the cerebellar corticonuclear connections in Macaca nzulntta.

Diagnosis and surgical management of an intraocular foreign body secondary to ballistic wound in a Rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta)
Background: Intraocular foreign bodies (IOFBs) such as air gun pellet is a rare finding in wild animals like Rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta). The purpose of the present scientific report is to describe the surgical retrieval of IOFB secondary to ballistic wound in a wild Rhesus macaque. Case description: A juvenile female wild Rhesus macaque was brought with the history of swollen and inflamed ...

Investigations of the cerebellar nuclei and the white matter adjacent to them have been very few in number as compared with many studies of cerebellar function based upon gross extirpation of this organ or upon destruction or stimulation of its cortex. It is well known, however, that the nuclei constitute at least the major source of all efferent cerebellar connections, and the small amount of ...
متن کاملThe Expression implication of GDNF in ventral horn and associated remote cortex in rhesus monkeys with hemisected spinal cord injury
Objective(s): Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) can effectively promote axonal regeneration, limit axonal retraction, and produce a statistically significant improvement in motor recovery after spinal cord injury (SCI). However, the role in primate animals with SCI is not fully cognized. Materials and Methods:18 healthy juvenile rhesuses were divided randomly into six groups, obs...

Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus affects 3-5% of all human pregnancy.Studies reported the neurotoxic effect of gestational diabetes on cerebellarand spinal cord in rat offspring. This study was conducted to determine the effect of gestational diabetes on astrocyte density in the cerebellum of rat offspring. Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, 30 Wistar rats dams were ran...
